  • Author: Melano
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick, budget-friendly weeknight dinner featuring juicy pork chops coated in a sweet and savory apple cider and cinnamon glaze. Ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds bone-in, center-cut pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Optional: 1 medium apple, sliced thin

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chops for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chops to a plate.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in apple cider and brown sugar, scraping up browned bits from the bottom. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  5. Remove skillet from heat and stir in butter and cinnamon until the sauce is glossy.
  6. Return pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the glaze. Cook for 1-2 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. Serve immediately, spooning extra glaze over the top.

Notes

Ensure pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F for juicy results. If the sauce is too thin, simmer longer. If too thick, add a splash of water or cider. For dairy-free, skip the butter and use olive oil.
