Description

A quick and flavorful weeknight dinner featuring salmon fillets coated in a sweet and spicy Cajun honey butter glaze, baked to perfection in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (olive or avocado oil)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease.
  2. Rinse salmon fillets and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, honey, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until a smooth paste forms.
  4. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry before applying the glaze to ensure it sticks properly. Do not overcook, as salmon can become dry quickly. For a dairy-free version, swap butter for olive oil. For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the glaze.
