Description
A quick, creamy, and nutritious smoothie that hides spinach in a delicious blend of green apples, banana, and Greek yogurt, perfect for busy mornings and picky eaters.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach (packed)
- 1 medium green apple (peeled and chopped)
- 1 ripe banana (frozen for best texture)
- 1/2 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk (whole, almond, or oat)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional, if not using frozen banana)
Instructions
- Wash the apples and spinach. Peel the apples if you prefer a smoother texture and chop them into chunks.
- Pour the milk and lemon juice into the blender first to help the blades move freely.
- Add the spinach, chopped apples, banana, and Greek yogurt to the blender.
- Add honey or maple syrup if using.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth with no green specks.
- Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick, or more sweetener/banana if too tart.
- Pour immediately into cups and serve cold.
Notes
For best results, freeze bananas ahead of time to make the smoothie thick and cold without diluting flavor with ice. Prep apples and spinach the night before to save time in the morning. If using frozen spinach, ensure it is thawed and drained well to prevent a watery texture.
