High-Protein Strawberry Cheesecake Shake: 5-Min Post-Workout Smoothie

  • Author: Melano
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A creamy, high-protein smoothie that tastes like strawberry cheesecake but fuels muscle recovery. Ready in just 5 minutes with pantry-friendly ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ½ cup milk (almond, dairy, or oat)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice (optional, if berries aren’t frozen enough)

Instructions

  1. Take the cream cheese out of the fridge 10 minutes before blending to soften, or microwave for 10 seconds. Cut into small cubes.
  2. Add the milk to the blender first, followed by the Greek yogurt, softened cream cheese, protein powder, frozen strawberries, vanilla extract, and honey (if using).
  3. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey, milk, or frozen berries as desired.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices or crushed graham cracker crumbs if desired.

Notes

Softened cream cheese is non-negotiable to avoid lumps. Use frozen strawberries for a thick, milkshake-like texture rather than ice, which can dilute flavor. This shake is best consumed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking as it may separate.
