Description
A homemade iced cinnamon dolce latte that tastes like the coffee shop but costs less. This recipe features a custom cinnamon sugar syrup, fresh foam, and strong coffee for a perfect morning treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots espresso or 1 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk (or oat/almond milk for dairy-free)
- 1 tablespoon sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and vanilla. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture simmers for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Brew espresso or strong coffee. Let it cool for a minute or two to room temperature.
- Pour cold milk into a frothing pitcher or jar. Froth for 15-20 seconds until thick foam forms. If using a jar, shake vigorously for 30 seconds, then microwave without the lid for 30 seconds to stabilize.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour in the brewed coffee.
- Add 2 tablespoons (2 pumps) of the cinnamon dolce syrup to the coffee and stir well to combine.
- Pour the frothed milk over the coffee, allowing the foam to sit on top.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the foam. Serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use cold milk for frothing. The syrup can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. If the syrup is too thick, add a teaspoon of water. For a lighter version, use skim milk and reduce syrup to 1 pump.
