Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

  • Author: Melano
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A creamy, rich, and healthy 5-minute vegan smoothie that tastes like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Perfect for busy mornings, this recipe uses simple pantry staples to keep you full and energized.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or oat/soy milk)
  • 1 large ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons natural creamy peanut butter
  • 2 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 handful spinach (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep ingredients: Peel and chunk fresh bananas, pit dates, and measure cocoa and chia seeds.
  2. Add liquids first: Pour plant-based milk into the blender to help create a vortex.
  3. Add soft solids: Add banana chunks, pitted dates, peanut butter, and spinach (if using).
  4. Add powders and ice: Toss in cocoa powder, protein powder, chia seeds, cinnamon, and top with ice cubes.
  5. Blend: Start on low speed for 10 seconds, then ramp up to high speed. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and glossy.
  6. Adjust consistency: If too thick, add more milk. If too thin, add more ice or frozen banana. Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate flavor as needed.
  7. Serve immediately: Pour into a glass or mason jar and drink right away while cold and frothy.

Notes

For the best texture, use frozen bananas instead of fresh. Stir natural peanut butter well before measuring. Blend for a full minute if using a weaker blender to ensure chia seeds and protein powder are smooth. Smoothies are best consumed immediately; if storing, keep in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours and shake well before drinking.
