Back-to-School Turkey Pinwheel: 3-Ingredient Snack Box

  • Author: Melano
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings (per tortilla) 1x

Description

A quick, mess-free, and customizable 3-ingredient snack box featuring turkey and cream cheese rolled in tortillas. Perfect for busy mornings and school lunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 small (6-inch) flour tortillas
  • 6 ounces deli-style turkey slices (oven-roasted breast)
  • 4 ounces soft cream cheese (softened)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • Optional: 1/2 cup cucumber ribbons
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon dried dill or chives
  • Optional: Freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep workspace: Lay out plastic wrap sheets (about 12 inches long) on a clean counter.
  2. Soften cream cheese: Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 15 minutes until spreadable.
  3. Spread cream cheese: Lay a tortilla flat on plastic wrap. Spread a thin, even layer of cream cheese over the surface, leaving a half-inch border.
  4. Layer turkey: Place turkey slices over the cream cheese, overlapping slightly for full coverage. Add optional cheese or veggies if desired.
  5. Roll it up: Using the plastic wrap, roll the tortilla tightly away from you into a log. Twist the ends of the plastic wrap to secure the shape.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the rolled pinwheels for at least 1 hour (overnight is best) to firm up the cream cheese.
  7. Slice and pack: Remove plastic wrap. Use a sharp serrated knife to slice the log into 1-inch pieces. Pack in an airtight container.

Notes

Do not skip the chilling step; the cream cheese must be firm to prevent unraveling when slicing. Use a serrated knife for clean cuts. These do not freeze well as the tortilla becomes soggy. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
