Description
These easy, pantry-friendly pizza rolls feature flaky crescent dough filled with mozzarella and pepperoni, then brushed with a savory garlic-parmesan butter wash for a crispy, addictive appetizer ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup (100g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 15–20 slices thin pepperoni
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup (50g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 13×9 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface and press the perforated seams together to form a continuous sheet. Trim jagged edges if necessary.
- Spread the shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border. Scatter pepperoni slices over the cheese and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Starting from a long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Press the seam to seal. Slice the log into 8-10 equal pieces using a serrated knife.
- Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each roll.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, dried parsley, and red pepper flakes.
- Generously brush the garlic-parmesan butter mixture over the top of each roll.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Use low-moisture mozzarella to prevent soggy dough. Ensure rolls are rolled tightly to prevent filling leakage. Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure crispiness. For extra cheesy crust, sprinkle remaining Parmesan on top before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3 days and reheated in the oven.
